CWRICWLWM I GYMRU - ein taith tuag at 2022.
Mae’r Bont Faen yn dref farchnad hynafol sydd wedi’i hamgylchynnu gan ardal wledig a phentrefi bychain. Mae’n ardal llawn hanes a thraddodiad Cymreig ac yn ardal sydd yn meddu ar arfordir godidog ac ardaloedd gwledig llawn bywyd gwyllt a nodweddion naturiol. O fewn fframwaith Cwricwlwm i Gymru, mae ysgolion wedi cael yr ymreolaeth i ddewis y cynnwys (y wybodaeth, y sgiliau a'r profiadau) sy'n diwallu anghenion y dysgwyr yn eu cyd-destun. O ganlyniad, rydym yn ceisio barn ein rhanddeiliaid i sicrhau bod ein cwricwlwm yn parhau i fod yn ddilys ac yn berthnasol i'n dysgwyr. Mae diswyl i ysgolion ystyried testunau lleol, cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol ac hefyd ‘cynefin’ o fewn dyluniad eu cwricwlwm. Rydym yn troi ein sylw yn gyntaf at Ddyniaethau o fewn ein cwricwlwm: ‘Mewn cyd-destunau cyfoes a hanesyddol, gall ymchwilio ac archwilio’r profiad dynol yn eu hardal eu hunain a gweddill Cymru, yn ogystal ag yn y byd ehangach, fod o gymorth i ddysgwyr ddarganfod eu treftadaeth a datblygu ymdeimlad o le a chynefin. Gall hyn hefyd hyrwyddo dealltwriaeth o’r ffordd y mae pobl Cymru, ei chymunedau, ei hanes, ei diwylliant, ei thirwedd, ei hadnoddau a’i diwydiannau yn cydberthyn i weddill y byd.’

Gofynnwn i chi felly fynd ati i gwblhau'r holiadur isod a rhoi mewnbwn am brif nodweddion yr ardal, a ystyrir gennych i fod yn bwysig i ni fel ysgol ac yn rhan annatod o gyd-destun dysgu disgyblion Ysgol Iolo Morganwg, cyn iddynt ein gadael ym mlwyddyn 6.

CURRICULUM FOR WALES - Our journey towards 2022.
Cowbridge is an ancient market town, surrounded by a rural area and made up of small villages. It is an area full of Welsh history and tradition and boasts a fantastic coastline and rich rural areas, full of wildlife and natural features, all of which influence life at Ysgol Iolo Morganwg. Within the Curriculum for Wales framework, schools have been given the autonomy to choose the content (the knowledge, skills and experiences) that meet the needs of the learners in their context. As a result, we are seeking the views of our stakeholders to ensure that our curriculum remains authentic and relevant to our learners. Schools are expected to consider local, national and international topics and also 'habitat' within the design of their curriculum.
We turn our attention first to Humanities within our curriculum: 'In contemporary and historical contexts, investigation and exploration of the human experience in their own localities and elsewhere in Wales, as well as in the wider world, can help learners discover their heritage and develop a sense of place and 'cynefin' (where we belong) . It can also promote an understanding of how the people of Wales, its communities, history, culture, landscape, resources and industries, interrelate with the rest of the world.

We are firstly turning our attention to the humanities within our curriculum. We therefore ask you kindly complete the questionnaire above to provide input on the main features of our area, that you consider to be important to us as a school and should form an integral part of the context of learning for pupils at Ysgol Iolo Morganwg, before they leave us in year 6.
